A Call to All Mothers
I’ve lost myself. I admit it. Looking into the mirror I no longer see the sparkle in my eyes but the fine lines appearing around them. That is not the example I want to offer my son. I am a glass half-full gal so how did my vision of the world transform? Easily. Little by little the challenges of life and resulting pain can collect like an invisible blanket of armor. If we are not careful our light extinguishes with each cut to our hearts. Rejection, loss and devastation can be a bitter pill that we mistakenly take as an invitation to play small. Disconnecting from our dreams, we behave less then what our hearts and souls are authentically. Take heart sisters, because I have a plan.
Listen In
There is a small voice within all of us that wants to be heard. Listen inward in stillness. Take the time to connect with that voice and it can guide you to your wishes and dreams. The secret desires of your heart are a key to unlock the door of your life’s purpose. I believe my higher power places those desires as a map to my mission. That voice within knows that you are powerful, magnificent and beautiful. Many external voices can distract us from that truth. Daily practice of this inner connection allows the voice to grow stronger thus reuniting us with our passion and purpose.
Directing Your Voice Outward
Once you have connected with your dreams it is easy to be discouraged when your reality is very different. Transformation is a process that can be set in motion by making new choices that promote small changes daily. Start by making a list of your dreams and reading it aloud daily. This helps to solidify your inner voice and allows you to set new intentions in your life. Moving out of your comfort zones and routines can be challenging. Remember that you – and not external forces – define who you are and what you are capable of creating.
Review and Set New Intentions
Reflect upon your day and see what new behaviors your inner voice led you to move toward. Note the changes that transpired to help you grow closer to your intentions and the old behaviors that keep you stagnant. Ultimately, the goal is to let go of what does not serve you and your passion. Armed with this information, you can continue to set new intentions and choices for the next day.
Daily practice of this cyclical process will result in manifesting your passion. Each new choice builds momentum that creates shifts in behavior. Slowly, these intentions move you toward your goal. This is a call to all women to embrace their power and live the life of their dreams. Nelson Mandela is widely quoted as saying,” We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world.” |
