Bulletin Bored?
It’s so refreshing amongst the plethora of catalogs and bills to see a fabulous little envelope containing something especially picked out and addressed to you. It may be a thank you card, an invitation, or a personal note containing an inspiring quote. Most of you admire it, then post it on your bulletin board or place it on your fridge. It’s nice to bask in the feelings invoked by that little card however, if you were to take a look at that bulletin board right now would you still be inspired or have you lost that loving feeling? If you don’t feel the love but instead see layers and layers of paper and photos, follow these simple steps to transform the clutter into a space that inspires you.
- Decide how much inspiration your mind and space can take. There’s a fine line between inspiration and overload.
- As you lovingly remove all the cards from the bulletin board or fridge: read them, smile and let them go. Do you ever send someone a card and expect them to keep it forever, I didn’t think so.
- Photos can be gathered up and placed in a frame or your photo box or album. Do not feel guilty about tossing out photo cards.
- Keep the quotes that suit your present lifestyle. The others have served you well, now set them and yourself free.
- Read those cartoons one last time and make room for some new humor.
- Find another location to keep your invitations and flyers. It’s wonderful to get lost in inspiration than be sidetracked by the flyer telling you need to act on something.
If you find yourself to be emotionally attached to an abundance of cards and cartoons, consider creating a treasure box or album. An adorable hatbox makes a wonderful home for all your keepsakes. Another fabulous and functional solution is to place your quotes and cartoons in a journal and place by your bedside. It’s an inspiring way to begin and end your day. |
