It's Lipo In A Box!

As fashion trends come and go, I for one am happy to retire the exposure of flesh in exchange for a more ladylike polish.  The trend toward decorum has heated up into more elegant clothing styles closer to the body, figure skimming and riding our curves, not hiding our curves. And just in time for my new shapewear discovery.  I had purchased a long, black knit column dress and even though it was oh, so soft, it showed every rippling contour starting from my ribs to my knees – and that’s a lot of territory.  I hadn’t thought about a new shaper for a while and just assumed that cutting off circulation and feeling constricted was part of the ‘no pain/no gain’ tummy-tamer trip.  I started searching around for some new products sure that there had to be something new since those Nancy Ganz Bodyslips that we all coveted from a past MODE magazine issue cover. My quest lead me to a new product whose name along certainly showed its sense of humor as well as timely arrival in the lingerie market.  I’m talking about Lipo in a Box.  Have your heard of it?  I mean, if we can have Botox in a Bottle, then why not a little nip and tuck from your re-invented girdle.  Spanx did it for pantyhose, maybe this was my updated underwear version of all that.  Upon going to www.lipoinabox.com I was struck by another kismet that only served to tell me I was on the right track. 

I’ve been working with Wynonna Judd for the past couple months for the new USA Network Nashville Star TV Reality Show she is co-hosting. (www.usanetwork.com/series/nashvillestar)  Well, lo and behold, Connie Elder, the creator of Lipo in a Box lives in – you guessed it, NASHVILLE!   Whew Hew!! 

I shot her an email and told her of my personal dilemma and how Ms. Wynonna was in the market for some new smoothies as well.  Kismet again, Connie was passing through NYC and we were able to meet in the lounge of her Hotel. We hit it off splendidly! An ample curvaceous size 14 herself, Connie comes from the medical compression stocking business and used her knowledge of varied compression to revolutionize the world of shapewear. 

She sent me a few of her best styles to ‘road test’ and I was thrilled with the results.  I don’t feel restricted, confined or uncomfortable.  What’s better? Seamless construction! Not only is this is the most comfortable control I have ever enjoyed, there is an unbroken line all the way down to my ankles now!!!  In black and nude, the high-waist Capri is perfect under trousers and the bodysuit, which ends above the knee, is great under skirts.  I wear them under everything. I was so inspired I even came up with an illuminating analogy – “Shapewear is to fashion as driving is to road conditions --- a smooth curve is better than a bumpy curve!!!”
