[MW] Tell us about the BB Maternity line and what you foresee in the future for your company?
[BB] Our goal is to be able to reach as many women as possible with our line. It is needed and we hear that constantly from expecting moms.
We also would like to look into expanding into children’s clothing and possibly lotions and fragrances that sooth the soul of the expecting mom.
[MW] You’re busy, to say the least. Tell me how you balance motherhood and business?
[BB] Sometimes I have to return phone calls to customers (store owners) while Becca is with me in the car...
One day she was NOT going to sing her song quietly in the back seat! Well wouldn’t you know that the storeowner picked up just as Becca was belting her song? We both started laughing and had a great conversation about her own kids and things she deals with while juggling mommyhood and a store. It really helped me focus on the important stuff in life. And her singing, at that moment, was most important!
[MW] What can we look forward to in the plus-size maternity business and for BB Maternity?
[BB] I see our market booming right now. Maternity is a huge money making industry and plus should have a piece of that! Every woman who is expecting a child deserves to look beautiful.
I am so proud of being a part of the movement of body-size acceptance in our country. I am thrilled to have BB Maternity be a part of that too!
[MW] What do you hope your daughter learns from her mom?
[BB] I hope my daughter sees that it is more than possible to put your dreams into action and bring them to fruition. I want her to own that in her life. I want her to be proud of what I have done, that if her mommy can do it, so can she.
