Mo'Nique as Jazmin Biltmore, a smart-mouthed aspiring fashion designer in  "PHAT GIRLZ" is an edgy comedy about two frustrated plus-size women obsessed with their weight while struggling to find love and acceptance in a world full of "hot bodied" babes. “PHAT GIRLZ” is an urban comedy about a “plus size” fashion designer who finds an unexpected love and learns the meaning of true acceptance, when she wins an all expense paid trip to Palm Springs. Also starring in the movie are: Jimmy Jean-Louis (TEARS OF THE SUN), Godfrey (SOUL PLANE), Joyful Drake (BEAUTY SHOP), Oscar nominee Eric Roberts (RUNAWAY TRAIN), Jack Noseworthy (UNDERCOVER BROTHER) and is also introducing Kendra C. Johnson in her feature film debut, due out  April 7th, in theaters nationwide.

Chance” is back for second helping!  Oxygen Network cable’s full-figured beauty special that takes America’s average beauty competition and repackages it for America’s real woman.  “I got tired of shows giving us such a negative image, that being big was a bad thing. The average woman is a size 14. We are the majority. We are America!"  Mo'Nique was quoted as saying on Oxygen's Web site.  Mo’Nique will be searching for 10 plus-size women ready to vie for the title of Miss F.A.T. (Fabulous and Thick), a $50,000 cash prize (additional prizing T.B.D.), and the chance to prove that big is beautiful. “Mo’Nique’s F.A.T. Chance,” network cable’s beauty competition for women who know that spirit outweighs size, premieres July 2006.  

But, being an advocate for the curvy woman, I got caught up in the show's positive message and the stories of finalists who were talented, active, and proud of their beauty--regardless of dress size last year. If you haven’t seen it yet, you should tune in this season! “F.A.T. Chance” turned out to be the cable network's highest-rated original telecast ever. Imagine that!Mo’Nique projects a self-assuredness of someone who always knew that she was going to be successful, no matter what she does. She’s truly an icon for plus-size woman with a vision that she still has yet to realize fully!

Mo'Nique will be launching a plus size clothing line and will also be exchanging vows with her best friend since high school, actor Sidney Hicks. The couple, who are proud parents of twin boys born in October 2005, are currently making final preparations for an island ceremony set for May 20, 2006.
