Lisa Scott knows that being a 'role model' is even more important then her role as a plus size model and actress. This 'curvy beauty with heart' has created a workshop called, "The Weight of Size" where she speaks to young girls at public schools and community centers around New York about body image and self esteem. Here is her story...

"The Weight of Size" was created after being asked a few years ago by my aunt, a high school principal at PS.93, to come in and speak to the kids about my modeling and acting career. I did, and it was a life changing experience for me. I couldn't believe how many girls felt so bad about their bodies and felt inferior and ugly. Many pulled me aside after I spoke and told me things that really changed me. Here I was thinking that only grown women like myself dealt with body image issues and never feeling good about their weight...

So, I went home and revamped my whole speech. From that day forward it's never been about me and my career, but encouraging these girls to feel good about themselves and making them know they are important, smart and beautiful.

This past spring, I rented a van and took several of 'my girls' shopping for prom dresses. We had a ball together! We went to Lane Bryant, Marshall's, TJ Maxx and some of my secret shopping spots for plus sizes. We bought some amazing dresses for them.

This is just as important to me than my next modeling assignment.

Do you know someone 'paying it Forward'? Please email us with their story for possible inclusion in an upcoming issue of AmaZe!
