The warm weather that you’ve been craving for all winter finally shows it’s face and as the initial excitement starts to wane you start to feel terror -- Why, because its SWIMSUIT SEASON!

Yes, we all feel a bit of terror as we head for the dressing room to try on this season's suits guaranteed to ‘widdle our middle’. As we shimmy into the latest styles, we need to learn to let those fears melt away as we try to embrace our bare bathing suit curves. Images of the beach and sun beckon you, but then you think about the other women that will inhabit the same sandy areas – Remember that we all have our own body issues, so join the movement!  We only live once so everyone should enjoy the gorgeous weather and the beauty Mother Nature created!

Luckily, swimsuit companies have been busy designing styles that help us curvy girls plan for some time in the sun at the beach or at the pool with more fit for our figures.  (P.S. They know that we need to look our best since we never know where an ex-boyfriend or an ex-crush will resurface.) Designers are experts when it comes to helping you look fabulous while in the sun wearing less than usual.   Fashion companies plan plus size swimsuit lines that offer more options to show off some of your best assets (and don’t forget they also offer cover-ups to help ‘play down’ those we don’t want to advertise!)  So we need to get over our complexes, join the revolution of women who “dare to bare” and plan for some fun times in the sun at the beach or at the pool.

Personally, I have an hourglass figure and when I’m at the beach or pool I feel the need to cover up my ‘cottage cheese cellulite’ on my butt and thighs. But I have to share that I love to accentuate my fuller bust.  I also like most of my lower back to be covered and a bathing suit that sucks in my tummy.  Anything that lifts and separates works really well too.  I’m eyeing a one-piece bandeau  MiracleSuit from AlwaysForMe.comand some cover-ups in bright terry cloth from Avenue & a turquoise bathing suit at Target.  I already have received rave reviews on my new Torrid.comapple green bandeau dress, which I highly recommend (Everyone of my friends is so happy to finally see me out of my usual black uniform -- Thanks to Torrid!).

Go strut your stuff on the beach! Hit the poolside with your new tankini! Show off those curves in your brand new swimwear! Curvy girls have no excuse to stay at home!
